Bio
Hi, my name is Kennedy Gentry. I’m originally from Elk Grove, California, but I’m here in Eugene attending the University of Oregon (Go Ducks). I’m a dance major, and since I stepped foot on campus, I’ve loved every single second of it. My freshman year, I joined the Duck Street Dance Crew (a UO campus team). Performing and practicing with them has been one of the highlights of my life here so far, and now I get to add another one by becoming a teacher here at Identity.
I’ve been dancing since I can remember, whether in the kitchen with my family, at random pop-up classes, or in the middle of the night trying to get a perfect score on Michael Jackson’s Just Dance. Dance isn’t just a hobby, it’s my first and forever love. My dream is to dance forever and ever and ever, basically until I drop. Hip Hop and Contemporary/Modern are the styles that I love the most, though they are different movement-wise, both allow me to express myself the most freely. I love getting to lab/choreography with these two styles and just seeing what my mind can come up with.
If I’m not dancing, you might find me hitting the stairmaster at the gym, getting some homework done, or watching a movie/TV wrapped in my blankets, sipping apple juice from a cute wine glass, I know, very classy.
I’m super excited to be given this opportunity to be a part of this studio family, and I can’t wait to dance it up.
