Bio
Mira started dancing at the young age of 3 and has been in love ever since. She has been trained in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip hop, Tap, and Ballroom. She loves all styles, but has a special place in her heart for Hip Hop. Mira is beginning her Junior year at the University of Oregon where she is majoring in Family and Human Services and minoring in Psychology. She is also apart of the University of Oregon Hip Hop team.
Mira began dancing competitively with Infinity Dance (Utah) and then NorCal Dance Arts (San Jose). She loved traveling, competing, and attending conventions as a dancer, so she is looking forward to experiencing these things from the choreographer’s perspective.
Mira has toured the country as a member of the Hollywood Vibe dance conventions company assisting top professionals such as David Moore, Kent Boyd, Kayla Kalbfleisch, Liz Imperio, Kevin Maher, etc. She was chosen as a principal dancer in the movie Dear Dumb Diary and was the captain of her high school dance team. She has also been able to perform at Blazers games with her Hip Hop company and has held a national title in Ballroom. She began her passion of choreographing at a young age, but officially started teaching as a sophomore in high school. She aspires to make an impact in the people’s lives around her and dance has been able to help her do that.
“Dance has always been my escape from reality and truly what has kept me grounded and happy throughout my life. My dance teachers growing up have had such an impact on who I am as a dancer and a person and I hope to do the same for my students. I hope to help the dancers feel at home and push them to grow as dancers and individuals. Working with kids has always been a passion of mine and teaching dance is a great way for me to combine several of my passions. I am so excited to be a part of the Identity family and be a part of each of these dancers’ journeys.”
